Rona and Andrew's Wedding: A Beautiful Day in Rural East Lothian

It was a beautiful day in rural East Lothian when Rona and Andrew tied the knot at Colstoun House. As a wedding videographer who had filmed weddings at this venue before, I was excited to be back and to capture their special day. And what a day it was!

The ceremony took place in the polytunnel on the grounds of Colstoun House, which provided a unique and stunning setting for the wedding. With the sun shining down, it was a warm and toasty atmosphere, perfect for the occasion. It also gave me the opportunity to bring out my drone and capture some amazing aerial shots of the venue and the surrounding countryside.

But it wasn't just the location that made this wedding so special. Every detail of the day was carefully planned and executed, from the flowers and decorations to the speeches and dancing. Rona and Andrew's love for each other was evident in every moment, and it was a joy to capture it all on film.

As a videographer, it's always an honor to be a part of such an important day in a couple's life. And when the setting is as beautiful as Colstoun House in East Lothian, it makes my job even more enjoyable. Take a look at their wedding highlights to see just how perfect the day was. Congratulations to Rona and Andrew on their marriage, and thank you for letting me be a part of it!

I asked Rona and Andrew to answer my usual four questions and below are their answers.

Can you give me a brief rundown of your wedding day?: Our full day took place at Colstoun House in Haddington. We had spent the Friday night having a pizza party with our nearest and dearest. We spent the morning of our wedding getting ready with our bridesmaids and groomsmen. It was a super relaxed time and we both felt so excited for the day ahead! We got married in the polytunnel in the walled gardens of the estate. We thought it was a really unique place to get married and absolutely loved it. We then had a drinks reception in the gardens and spent time getting photos with our closest friends and family. We then had the best meal and danced the night away. It really was just the best day ever.

What do you remember most about your wedding day?: This is a hard one! We both feel like we can close our eyes and relive the entire day from beginning to end. The thing we remember most from our day is the overwhelming feeling of happiness and how in the moment we were for the entire day. Our ceremony was super special to us and clocking each other as we met each other at the top of the aisle was really special.

Why did you choose your wedding venue?: From the moment we met team at Colstoun we just knew we wanted to get married there. First of all the place is absolutely beautiful, amazing grounds with unique out houses that all of our family could stay at for the entire weekend. We also really liked the unique option of getting married in the polytunnel!! Most of all though, we loved the family feel of the place. It’s been owned by the same family for hundreds of years and you can really feel that. Lyn and Cameron made us feel so unbelievably welcomed and you could tell they were genuinely excited for us and wanted to make sure our day ran smoothly. We really feel so grateful to the entire Colstoun team for making our wedding the best it could ever be!

What made you decide to have your wedding filmed?: Being able to go back and look at little snippets of our childhood is something that we really love. Video captures the moment and a depth of emotion that pictures can’t always do, how my dad laughs, the sound of my favourite people’s voices, real time expressions. We knew our wedding day was going to go by in the blink of an eye and we wanted to be able to capture it all and relive it for years to come! Being able to listen back to our vows and the speeches has been so special. We are so glad we have our wedding day to look back on forever!
